The long-in-development Metal Gear Solid film adaptation has had many troubles since its initial talks at Sony Pictures, but the latest reports indicate that the film may have found a new director to undertake the ambitious project.

A new report from Deadline reveals that the studio is in talks with director Jordan Vogt-Roberts to undertake the Metal Gear Solid film adaptation, with the film having been in development well since 2012 in collaboration with series creator, Hideo Kojima. Vogt-Roberts previously directed last year’s The Kings of Summer, alongside a number of short films and other video projects.
