Metal Gear Solid V Xbox One Version Shown by Hideo Kojima with SmartGlass…on Sony Tablet

After showing Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes on PS4 and on PS Vita via Remote Play, Director Hideo Kojima predictably moved on to the Xbox One version, showcasing it together with its SmartGlass feature.

Above we can see the initial splash screen on both the monitor and the tablet, that was tweeted with the following comment, indicating that SmartGlass will be used to display information from the iDroid device used by Big Boss in the game.

Today checking XBOX-ONE with multi tablet. I put out Snake’s terminal “iDroid” screen during the game.

In the picture below, tweeted alongside the comment “I try to copy over the map. It’s comfortable (laughs)” we can indeed see the map on the tablet while gameplay is displayed on the monitor. That’s definitely pretty convenient.

As a rather amusing detail and a remarkable example of brand agnosticism, Kojima is testing the Xbox One version while pairing it with a Xperia Tablet Z by Sony. And they say that opposites don’t attract…

Update: Kojima followed up with a third tweet featuring the same SmartGlass feature on a smartphone and a fourth that shown a “heat map” on the tablet and mentioned:

This compatibility with second devices in GZ is possible even on PS3 and of course on PS4. The “blue area” heat map of alerts of the iDroid is displayed on the tablet. In other words, that area is easy to find around you. It’s convenient.
