The developer of Metro 2033, 4A Games, has announced via their Twitter that DLC for the first-person shooter is on its way, stating: "Like a fine single malt, the DLC is almost done... we hope to be able to take the wraps off it this week." If that isn't an indication of the obvious, then I don't know what is.

If you're wondering what the DLC entails, you're on the same boat we're in because we have zero clue what's going to be unveiled for the upcoming downloadable content. But what we do know is that it is coming. DLC for Metro 2033 began production back in March - that we're sure of. While news slowly begins to surface we'll make sure to keep you all in the loop.

UPDATE

So, ladies and gentlemen, after doing some homework and getting a nice little response from the people at THQ, we have received word regarding the contents of the upcoming - and aforementioned news - DLC for Metro 2033.

The new pack, which has been dubbed the 'Ranger Pack,' adds a bunch of new elements to the game; additions like new weapons, new achievements and the deadly 'Range Mode' game rules. For those of you with a bewildered look on your faces trying to figure out just exactly what this 'Ranger Mode' is, the game type drastically reduces ammo and adds a bit more zing to your weapons, which cause more damage. But just as you and your weapons have undergone the rabid persona of a steroid drug abuser, your enemies are just as rabid - making them much deadlier than they once were.

'Ranger Hardcore' adds an additional challenge as the HUD is completely removed from the screen, establishing a 'the most immersive Metro 2033 experience yet." Two new weapons making their way into your arsenal of ass-kicking armaments is the Heavy Automatic Shotgun, and the Volt Driver - Miller's signature gun. If you have time to kill and are an achievement whore, you'll be delighted to know that along with the mention of new achievements, you'll be able to add an additional 250 Gamerscore points to your already massive collection (if you're anything like Al Zamora).

The Ranger Pack will be released on both Xbox Live and Steam pretty soon. If you're wondering what the pricing is set at, there is no word on that as of yet. As the DLC nears its release, a price point will be given.
