The big Nintendo 3DS title gamers are undoubtedly looking forward to this September is Metroid: Samus Returns and ahead of its release two new pieces of artwork have made their way onto the web courtesy of Nintendo of Australia's Twitter page.

The two images portray Samus in all her glory firing a barrage of laser blasts at a helpless enemy and in the other hitting an enemy with what appears to be a powerful uppercut. These are definitely high quality images and are in no way an indication of what the final game will look like or even if these attack animations make it into the final product.

It was reported earlier how amiibo functionality will occur in the title, either unlocking helpful bonus items the players can utilize in-game, or unlocking other bonus features such as art/concept artwork galleries, a sound test feature, and more.

Metroid: Samus Returns first debuted at E3, as a stealth announcement by Nintendo Treehouse after Nintendo’s official press release. It comes exclusively to Nintendo 3DS on September 15, 2017 — alongside an amiibo and special collector’s edition.
