Today Nintendo launched the Switch, and Microsoft decided to welcome the new console that joined the fray on social media. As you can see below, the American, British, German, French and Spanish arms of the Xbox congratulated their respective Nintendo counterparts on Twitter.

Funnily, the congratulations came in the form of achievements, which is pretty funny since the Switch doesn't have (at least for now) an achievement system.

Microsoft's Xbox Division head Phil Spencer has gone on record multiple times with words of praise for the switch, mentioning that its launch is a good thing for the industry as a whole.

Incidentally, the North American arm of Sony also sent its congratulations today, even if in a definitely less creative way, especially compared to its British and Italian arms, that welcomed the Switch with an adventure-themed tweet, and a funny troll.
