on June 13, 2016 7:36 PM

Today, during the YouTube Live broadcast hosted by Geoff Keighley, Microsoft Head of First Party Studios Publishing Shannon Loftis gave more color on the upcoming Xbox One Scorpio.

Loftis mentioned that the console was announced today to give developers a heads-up on the fact that the console is coming in 2017, and to see what all the power and capability inspired them to create.

She also mentioned that Scorpio is the “next step of the entire Xbox console family journey.” Games that play beautifully on Xbox One right now will continue to do so on Xbox One S, and then on project scorpio.

We then hear that developers creating games right now can enable dynamic scaling, and the game will automatically look better on Xbox One Scorpio when it releases.

While Liftis promised that all the games released now will run on Scorpio, she was asked whether there woild be Scorpio-only games, and her answer remained vague:

“I don’t know about that. Again, it’s up to the game development community. What do they want to do. […] This is the beginning of a new cycle of engaging with devs. Let’s talk again next year.”
