Microsoft Fans in Line Since 1 AM for Gamescom Xbox Fanfest, Greeted by Phil Spencer and Team

on August 4, 2015 7:22 AM

Fans lined up early for the Xbox fanfest at E3, and history is repeating at Gamescom, where Microsoft is organizing a similar fan event.

The first two brave gamers were ready in front of the venue at 1 AM.

At 8 in the morning, the line had grown to 23 eager fans.

At 10:30 AM the line had grown further.

The Xbox team, led by head honcho Phil Spencer, followed suit by Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb, Aaron Greenberg and Graeme Boyd, just went to greet the fans in line:

… and they even brought swag:

One fan even decided to drop by… from Russia.

Tickets will start to be distributed among those present at 2 AM (about 40 minutes from now), and the line is already sizable.

Those that are braving the line didn’t just face a long wait, but also the weather, as in cologne it has been raining on and off.

Now it’s time for me to head out in the rain as well. Microsoft’s press conference and the following showcase await!
