The holidays are the most wonderful time of the year for gamers with plenty of new releases to feast on and shiny new consoles to open up under the Christmas tree, and for those that have yet to jump into the current-gen of consoles, a new promotion for Microsoft geared toward the holiday rush may be in your favor.
In a new video and post through the Xbox website’s news wire, the company has announced a new promotion that will be running in time for the holidays with a temporary $50 price drop on all Xbox One consoles and bundles. The deal will be running from November 2nd-January 3rd, offering nearly two months for gamers to get Xbox One consoles for slightly cheaper, including many of the system’s big bundles with titles such as Sunset Overdrive, Assassin’s Creed Unity, and others previously released this year.
Xbox Head Phil Spencer spoke on the company’s holiday offerings, mentioning specifically:
“We want this to be an unforgettable holiday season for Xbox fans around the world. Only on Xbox One can you play some of the most anticipated exclusives, newest blockbuster franchises and innovative independent games of the year. We’re pleased to start the season off early with an incredible portfolio that includes millions of hours of fun for gamers and their friends.”
Microsoft’s holiday promotion for Xbox One will be running from November 2nd-January 3rd, and will be available on all Xbox One consoles/bundles at major retailers in the US: no word on whether the deal will be available outside the US has been revealed yet, other than Microsoft mentioning that timing outside the US “will vary.”
