Microsoft Introduces ‘IllumiRoom’

Microsoft has released a proof-of-concept video showcasing a new research project ‘designed to push the boundary of living room immersive entertainment’. The technology projects visualizations outside of the TV screen to expand what can be seen by the player.

Take a look at the proof-of-concept video below to see IllumiRoom in action. Microsoft assures viewers that the ‘effects in the video are rendered in real time and are captured live — not special effects added in post processing.’
