Microsoft May Bring Halo, Forza Motorsport and Flight Simulator to iOS and Android Platforms

Today Microsoft and the Japanese smartphone developer Klab Inc. announced that the Age of Empires franchise will debut on iOS and Android platforms this year, but the initial announcement specified that more games will follow. What games are they talking about? We don’t yet know for sure, but a rather heavy hint can be found in the official press release announcing Age of Empires just sent by Klab.

While the wording is not as precise as we’d need to call it an official announcement, three prominent Microsoft franchises were explicitly named in the press release besides Age of Empires: Halo, Forza Motorsport and Microsoft Flight Simulator.

It wouldn’t be surprising if the hint turned into reality, as the three series named are basically the most representative of the Microsoft brand in Japan. Halo and Forza are considered signature names for the console market, while Microsoft Flight Simulator is still very popular between Japanese PC gamers. That said, it’s hard to determine if a deal on those titles has already been signed, or Klab is simply name dropping.

Until yesterday holding Halo and an iPhone in the same thought was preposterous, today the perspective isn’t as farfetched as it used to be.
