Microsoft Warns About Phishing Attempts in Modern Warfare 2, African Princes

Look we all like to have a little fun at others expense. It helps make us feel better about our own insecurities. So while everybody’s ripping on Sony for their recent blunder, sometimes life comes along and reminds us that nobody’s perfect. Microsoft has put a notice up on their XBox Live Status page warning players of possible Phishing attempts, though oddly enough only very specifically in the game Modern Warfare 2.

Users may experience difficulties with the following services:

* Users may receive potential phishing attempts via title specific messaging while playing Modern Warfare 2.

We are aware of the problem and are working to resolve the issue. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your patience

In other news, if somebody calls you on the phone claiming to be your bank and asks for your account number and password or you receive an email from an African Prince who needs to borrow some money so he can access his fortunes (which he will then gladly share with you), don’t do it.
