Microsoft’s Phil Spencer and Aaron Greenberg React to NPD Results, Praise Titanfall: “it Was a Big Bet”

on April 17, 2014 9:09 PM

The NPD results for the month of March are in, and reactions are starting to come in from the Microsoft side of the trenches. As expected, words of praise are mostly for Respawn Entertainment’s Titanfall, that has quickly become Xbox One’s poster boy.

Xbox Division Head Phil Spencer led the dance, also taking the chance to tease what’s coming at E3

Congrats @Respawn and @EA – #Titanfall on #XboxOne was the #1 Selling Game in March according to NPD

More excited than nervous. The Xbox team is working hard to make the show great.

Chief of Staff for Devices and Studios Group Aaron Greenberg followed starting by thanking the fans for the support that led to five million consoles shipped:

5M sold, which is sold into our retailers.

Thank you, we are super grateful for all the support from our fans!

The discourse soon shifted to Titanfall, with praise for its innovation, and an interesting statement as Greenberg defines the game a “big bet.”

Thanks to everyone for making Titanfall on Xbox One the #1 selling game in March.

Good call, HUGE THANKS to the @Respawn team, providing so much innovation and fun over the past couple months.

Thanks, could not agree more, was a big bet from a long time ago.

Looks like the bet was won, and it’s nice to see Respawn’s staff back on the saddle after the whole Call of Duty lawsuit hoopla. I’m sure I’m not the only one curious to see what they’ll do next.
