Minecraft 1.0 Gets Released Into the Wild and the Xbox Live Version Gets An Amazing Trailer

Yesterday at the MineCon keynote, Notch revealed that Minecraft is now out of Beta and is now in its 1.0 release.  The biggest change apparent in the 1.0 update is that there is now a proper ending to the game.  This ending includes a true final boss called the Enderdragon.  However the game update also adds a few new mobs, including villagers, the Snow Golem and Magma Cubes.  As this is the 1.0 update to “True Minecraft,” there are a lot of changes.  For the complete list, check here.

In addition to the major 1.0 update, the Xbox Live version of the game also got a pretty amusing trailer, which can be seen after the jump.

It is always great to see an indie game do well, and Minecraft has been the poster child for indie game success for a while now.  The crowd-sourcing concept worked incredibly well.  Now if you don’t mind, I have some mines to explore.
