Minecraft developer Mojang may be responsible for the single most successful beta of all time. Gamers can't seem to get enough of the meticulous sandbox building madness. Sales of the indie title have reached a new high and it has recently amassed more than four million paid users. Although the phenomenon is still in the beta stages, creator Markus Persson feels that it has already made a significant mark on the industry:

"It does feel like the game has already proven itself. We've won several amazing awards, so several people in the industry seem to enjoy what we've done. Now it's just the press left."

Minecraft will finally launch as a full game at MineCon, which will take place from November 18th to the 19th in Las Vegas. I've never gotten a chance to see what all the fuss surrounding this game was about, but I'd be crazy not to hop on the band wagon after the full game launches considering the beta alone has been this well received.
