The worldwide phenomenon Minecraft has made itself available on virtually every platform imaginable, but now those looking for another option to bring the world-building game on the go can do so on the New Nintendo 3DS XL in the very near future.

During today's Nintendo Direct broadcast highlighting 3DS and Nintendo Switch titles, Nintendo revealed that Minecraft will release on the New Nintendo 3DS today on the 3DS eShop, while a physical version of the title will arrive at a later date.

Tailored specifically for the New 3DS and New 2DS line of systems, Minecraft: New Nintendo 3DS Edition will feature the ability to use either standard controls or the system's touchscreen, and will feature both the Survival and Creative modes of the game. The release also includes special skin and texture packs, and luckily those looking to enjoy the title on the 3DS won't have to wait too much longer.
