The wildly-popular build-anything title Minecraft has enjoyed success on virtually every platform imaginable, and with the upcoming release of the long-awaited Nintendo Switch, players will be able to create on the go with a new Switch Edition of the title.Following the announcements and reveals of the Nintendo Switch last week, a new page appearing on Nintendo's website has confirmed Minecraft: Switch Edition, which will bring over the beloved title to the upcoming home console/handheld hybrid system. A tweet from the game's co-developer 4J Studios also confirmed the release and gave a (brief) glimpse of the title running on the new system.Since its official release in 2011, Minecraft has climbed into the best selling lists for years and has released across Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo, and mobile platforms, with (apparently) no end in sight to where the title will release.Minecraft is just one of the many third party titles that have been confirmed for the Nintendo Switch, though no specific release date or price has been revealed for the title just yet. Aside from the new Switch Edition, many of the confirmed titles for the new system so far include the Switch version of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Special Edition, the FIFA franchise, and many others.
