Today Square Enix announced via press release the Japanese release date of its upcoming Nintendo Switch game Minna de Waiwai! Spelunker, that will bring the Spelunker series to Nintendo's new console.

The game will be released in Japan on April 20th both at retail and at digital download, costing 4,980 yen ($44) plus taxes.

The game is based on the free-to-play PS4 game Spelunker World (that in Japan also has a PS Vita version), with additional feature for switch.

The game can be played in various player configurations, for instance two or four players can play on the same console in table mode and TV mode by using one Joy-Con controller each. Four player online multiplayer is also supported.

The announcement also specifies (as expected) that subscribing to Nintendo's online services is necessary to utilize the online multiplayer features of the game.
