Ubisoft announced today that it has acquired Ketchapp, a popular iOS and Android publisher known for free-to-play games such as ZigZag and the 2046.
Jean-Michel Detoc, Executive Director of Ubisoft’s Mobile Division, had the following to say about the acquisition:
“With Ketchapp, Ubisoft acquires a highly profitable publisher with a successful portfolio of free-to-play games for mobile. This acquisition gives Ubisoft one of the world’s leading mobile game publishers and reinforces our advertising capabilities in mobile gaming.”
Antoine and Michel Morcos, the co-founders of Ketchapp, also had kind words to say about the aquisition:
“We are thrilled to become part of Ubisoft’s international network of talented teams. We founded Ketchapp with the intention of creating captivating gaming experiences, and we are looking forward to leveraging Ubisoft’s creativity and resources to enrich our existing and upcoming titles.”
Ubisoft announced that their acquisition of Ketchapp is set to close before the end of the year. This will make Ubisoft the fourth largest publisher in the mobile market in terms of total downloads.
