Mobile Suit Gundam Online Opens, Gets a Big Trailer

This is why we can’t have nice things, even on Christmas. Mobile Suit Gundam Online started its official service today, and of course it’s Japan only, leaving all the western fans of the white Mobile Suit that started the “Real Robot” Anime tradition high and dry and with very slim hopes for a localization.

To celebrate the occasion (and to cruelly tease us) Namco Bandai released a trailer that gives a very extensive overview on what the game offers, and that’s quite a lot, between massive battles, a ton of different mobile suits, lots of characters from all the series and several roles to play in.

The betas have been massively successful, with a record of over 25,000 players logged in and playing at the same time. Maybe the local success will persuade Namco Bandai to give it a try even in the west? Fat chance, but in the meanwhile you can tease yourself by watching the trailer below.
