ModDB and IndieDB, the open source databases for mods and indie games, respectively, have released their user-nominated lists of the top 100 mods and indie games of the year, and they're both quite good lists; if you're at all into either of those scenes, they're definitely worth a read.

Unfortunately, there are a few... strange inconsistencies here and there, like Amnesia being nominated for Indie of the Year despite coming out in 2010, Dwarf Fortress still being on the nominated list, the Black Mesa Half-Life 2 mod (that has been in development limbo for years) still being in the "Upcoming Mods of 2011" list (though it seems every mod on that list's release date is TBD), but those are really just trifles.

You can still vote for Mod of the Year and Indie of the Year there, so be sure to cast your votes.
