Infinity Ward's first-person shooter Modern Warfare 2 was last year's most anticipated video game, and it had sold 4.7 million copies worldwide within the first 24 hours, which is pretty damn impressive for a game. As of June 15th, 2010, Modern Warfare 2 has sold over 20 million copies worldwide, and its growing as each day progresses. Sure, this game has been out now for  9 months, and there are certainly better online titles to be played, but this is such an addicting game that I am compelled to place my two cents onto the table.

Now, don't get me wrong, I love this game. I know that it may seem like I despise  it given the title that I chose for this editorial. But, it's not the game itself that makes me so upset here, it's how people chose to play it. I play Modern Warfare 2 every single day on my PlayStation 3,  and have been  playing since the game's launch. I have spent so many sleepless nights gaining XP and brutalizing my way to the top of the leaderboards, as I hope all of you are doing the same. So, without further hesitation, let's get down to the skinny of it all...

The multi-player of Modern Warfare 2 is the part of the game that everyone enjoys playing, but what will make someone decide to say "enough is enough." A few days ago, I decided to put together a piece, or rant, talking about all of the things in this game that make me and many others so incredibly ticked off.

For me, it's players who only noob-tube or use their effing rockets throughout a match. Now, I understand that these are weapons that are earned through the game, and the developers wouldn't have placed them in there if they didn't want people to use them. But, come on, do you really have to only use these weapons? Mix it up a bit! I can't stand getting killed by someone who has a class set up with an assault rifle with a grenade launcher attachment and RPG's as their secondary combined with Scavenger, giving them an infinite supply of noob debauchery. I'm constantly seeing nothing but grenades launching across the map and nailing my teammates, or myself. What I really want to know from everyone is "how is this fun for people?" I'm probably going to get a lot of mixed feedback here, but I'm just going to lay it out there that I understand that you get XP for these kills, and a lot of the time you get double kills or even multi-kills from using your noob-tube or RPG's. But seriously, you are making everyone downright mad, so do us all a favor and change up your classes, no one likes getting constantly noob-tubed.

As I sit here thinking about all of the ranting that I can come up with for this article, I can't help but think of campers. We all have ran into those players who stay in one spot and just keep killing us constantly, and by now, we should all know the spots in each map where these campers go to. But, I can't really say that camping is a bad thing as long as its in small amounts,  because it is necessary in some game modes, such as Demolition, Search and Destroy, or even Capture the Flag. It's when you continue to stay in that same spot and don't move from it, there comes an issue. Even the military trains their snipers to move locations. All in all, defending is different than camping.

By the way Infinity Ward, if you are reading this, please for the love of God, PATCH THE ROCK GLITCH ON FUEL!!! This is just ridiculous. I don't understand why this hasn't been patched with the release of the Resurgence Map Pack once it hit the PlayStation Network. I don't get how you can just keep letting people get inside this rock and pummel everyone with every weapon they have, and we are completely useless when it comes to taking down the rat bas*ard inside that effing rock! Everyone is tired of running around like a chicken with its head chopped off... Patch the rock glitch! Let players enjoy the level.

But, nothing erks me more than boosters and 10th prestige hackers. If you are unaware as to what boosting is, it's when two people go into a free for all match equipped with a tactical insertion and continue to kill one another until they get a tactical nuke. Wow, really? Is it just me, or is this just downright ridiculous? When did playing a video game become about cheating so badly that you have to not play the game like its supposed to be played? Or needing to have a hacked account to get to the top of the leaderboards. The other night I was playing online with some friends, waiting in the lobby for the match to begin, when out of nowhere I hear "Hey, Vokillist, want to get hacked?" I could only say one thing to the person, "Are you kidding me? Get out of here." I'm taking a guess on this one, and am going to assume that he didn't see my rank in the game. I've been sitting at 10th prestige for the past month, and I did it all without using a hack or glitches, or by being a booster or a noob-tubing f**kstick.

My Stats

On a daily basis, I am asked by players in lobbies, "are you a real 10th prestiger?" And that answer is "YES! I am, and proud of it!" I've earned that 10th prestige title and all of my other emblems, and  am currently placed at 73, 600 on the global leaderboards for my score, and climbing everyday. Now, I know that may not be the greatest standing point on the  leaderboards, but considering how many boosters and hackers there are out in the community of Modern Warfare 2 players, I would consider that to be pretty good.

I have been told so many times, "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em." Well, I don't want to join them. I'm sure that you all don't want to join them either, you want to enjoy yourself and not have to worry about constantly dying and having a score of 3 kills and 31 deaths by the end of the match. I don't want to be that shyster who only uses noob-tubes or RPG's, and I'm sure that you don't want that either. I want to play a game and be entertained while doing so. That's why I purchased Modern Warfare 2.

But honestly, I don't really feel like this issue of noob-tubers, boosters, and hackers can be resolved without placing the game on my shelf for the next year until I decide to pick it up again. All I know is that if I continue to play Modern Warfare 2, I will have an aneurism or possibly go insane, and it's mainly due to shady people who make it so unfair with constant noob-tubes and RPGs, boosters and the millions of hackers who have infiltrated the leaderboards, regardless of what system you play on. I don't want to hang up my dog tags and call it quits. I don't want to continue having nightmares and waking up screaming, "Noob-Tuber, don't put that there!" I guess I will just do what I have been doing, and that is finding other lobbies to play in when people decide to be party-poopers. But seriously, it gets so annoying regathering your party members every few minutes... I think that sometimes I spend more time in the lobby than I do playing the actual game.

I'm really curious as to what people's opinions are on people who want to be shady like this. I want to know what makes people want to hack their account to get that 10th prestige. Why do people boost? Are you lazy? What kind of satisfaction do you get? So, lets hear it...
