Modern Warfare 2 is Gamestop’s King of the Pre-Order

on November 3, 2009 1:22 PM

Yeah, that’s right. Despite all of the controversy surrounding Infinity Ward’s upcoming shooter, it still manages to sell the most pre-orders since – well – ever. Not an easy feat by any means! USA Today’s Game Hunters had a sit down with¬†Tony Bartel who is the executive vice president for merchandising and marketing at GameStop who had this to say:

“By all indicators, we anticipate¬†Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will be the biggest entertainment launch of all time…As of today, the number of pre-order reservations we’ve taken for the game is the highest for any title we’ve ever sold in our 6,200 store network.”

Well color me excited! That means that the chances are better to run into even more young assholes while playing online than usual. Awesome!
