Have you ever wondered what was the process of creating and designing a new monster in the Monster Hunter series? Or perhaps what kind of difficulties were posed by the process when developing and balancing the new mechanics for Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate?

If so, check out the video below (subtitled in English) where lead developers Kaname Fujioka and Yuya Tokuda discuss the finer points in developing the newest addition in the hit series. Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate released for Nintendo 3DS in October 2014 in Japan and came to the West in 2015.

The better question is "Why is this interview coming out now?" The game is nearly a year old, so this is either a post-mortem or a possible hint that Japanese exclusive Monster Hunter X may be announcing a Western release date.
