In one of my many breaks from playing my "main" MMOs, I took a dive into Guild Wars.  I played not long after the game came out, before any of the expansions were released.  I really enjoyed the non-PVP aspects of the game and the visuals were simply amazing.  All NCSoft games I've ever seen have been absolutely stunning to look at.  Once you pushed past the PVE content, though, you were level with a PVP end-game, and that I didn't like, so I gave up.  One unique feature of Guild Wars was that everything outside major towns was instanced - you had your own copy of the world, for all intents and purposes.  You and your friends (or, if you were solo, your hired NPC helpers) could venture out on your own without anyone else around.

The follow-up, Guild Wars 2, promises to be more of an MMO feel - with a full, persistent world and a higher level cap.  The focus of the game is also to eliminate the typical "what do I do now" conundrum players usually get when they reach the height of content they want to experience.  I'm definitely keeping my eye on this title - one of three upcoming MMOs constantly on my radar.  For your viewing pleasure, here's a slew of artwork from the game.
