Sony Computer Entertainment confirmed today that there will be more layoffs in three of its UK studios.
Evolution Studios, Guerrilla Cambridge and SCE London Studio will all undergo a “focused restructure” as Sony Computer Entertainment Europe eliminates more redundancies.
“Regular reviews take place throughout SCE Worldwide Studios, ensuring that the resources that we have in such a competitive business can create and produce high quality, innovative and commercially viable projects,” a Sony representative told VideoGamer.
As part of this process, we have reviewed and assessed all current projects and have decided to make some changes to some of our European Studios. As a result of this, there will be a focused restructure within London Studio, Guerrilla Cambridge Studio and Evolution Studio to ensure that [Sony] is in the best position to achieve their goals going forward.
This comes in the wake of last months layoffs at Sony Santa Monica, which spelled the end of an unknown new title, which will never see the light of day.
According to Sony, Evolution Studio’s release of the already behind schedule Drive Club, will not be affected.
