Want to know what Mother Nature kicking you in the ass feels like? Then Motorstorm Arctic Edge is just for you. Today SCEA announced the new addition to the Motorstorm series for the Playstation 2 and Playstation Portable. It features new tracks and two new types of terrain vehicles. The game features vehicle customization options as well as lifelike Artificial Intelligence.

Motorstorm Arctic Edge takes place in the winterized Alaskan terrain, giving you 12 amazing new tracks as you dash through dangerous arctic conditions, such as avalanches when players trigger their horns, collapsing ice bridges and bobsled corners. The tracks are played on three different racing altitudes; the higher it is, the colder and more dangerous it will be. Two new vehicles, the Snowcat and Snow Machine, in addition to the original 6 from the other games, will help you fight through to the finish. The smarter AI will think of safer routes and show better game play as the cold and harsh conditions force you and your opponents to be quick on your feet and prepare for the next move.

Downside is pointed at the sad faces ok the PS3 owners, not having a chance to see some action out of the game, unless they were lucky to still own a PS2 or PSP. I am not sure why Motorstorm Arctic Edge was created for the PS2 and PSP, and not for the PS3,where the series of that game began. But everyone has their reasons I guess.
