MTV Games Shut Down

Sad news, as MCV reports that MTV Games has shut its doors this week. The International office was closed on Wednesday, and only a few employees remain in the New York offices to collect their things. With the recent sale of Harmonix, their one and only developer, the publisher really had no other course of action.

The International branch actually was in talks with Harmonix and new buyer Columbus Nova about handling sales in Europe, but apparently those talks died down.

As necessary as it may have been, it’s nonetheless a shame to see hard-working folks losing their jobs. Our support goes out to those now without employment, and hope they land on their feet sometime soon.

Allen is an utter whore of a gamer; he's completely open-minded to all games, be they AAA blockbusters or $5 casual children's games. His focus is on indie games specifically, valuing gameplay and ingenuity over sparkly visuals and ridiculous gimmicks. When he's not geeking out over the newest art game, he's out toning his sexy, sculpted shoulders while surfing epic 1.5ft waves, or having a good time with local, high-gravity microbrews.
