My Nintendo Picross: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Leaked by Data Miners

on March 7, 2016 2:07 PM

We are still in the dark about Nintendo’s upcoming loyalty program, My Nintendo, but dataminers may have found the first upcoming digital reward. The leak comes by way of Twitter user Cellenseres, who posted a few pictures and a supposed release date of March 31, 2016:

While rumors are a dime a dozen, the claim is substantiated by a Nintendo.net link, showing it is coming off of Nintendo’s servers. Nintendo has previously released Nintendo IP-themed Picross games developed by Jupiter Corporation — i.e. Pokemon Picross — so the supposed leak doesn’t seem out of the question. While we don’t know if this will be an purchasable eShop game or a reward, the late-and-great Club Nintendo previously offered digital downloads for people who racked up enough eShop purchases.

While the pictures paint a convincing scene, the supposed release date deserves more examination. On one side, Nintendo is launching My Nintendo this month — with the recent release of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD on Wii U, a March 31 release date doesn’t seem out of the question. On the other side, March 31 is the end of a fiscal quarter, so there is the possibility it is merely a placeholder.

Either way, if the March 31, 2016 launch date is accurate, we will be hearing more about this within the month. My Nintendo is set to formally launch March 2016, and is available now for pre-registration via Nintendo Accounts registration now. Check out the images below:
