Cyan, the developer behind a few classic adventure games such as Myst and Riven, announced today that its newest game Obduction, which serves as a spiritual successor of sorts to Myst, has launched on PS4 with PlayStation VR support.

This version of the game costs $29.99, and those who pre-ordered were able to net themselves an exclusive PS4 theme and avatars to use. For those of you who don't know, in Obduction players explore an mysterious extraterrestrial landscape that has out-of-place pieces of Earthly constructs spliced in to it. At the start of the game, players are whisked to this place by a strange artifact, so the player decides to set out and discover the planet's plethora of secrets, expansive environments, all while making difficult choices with real in-game consequences.

Rand Miller, CEO of Cyan, Inc., has also commented on bringing the game to console, a first for Cyan in over two decades:

"It’s been almost two decades since we created a product for console, and we couldn’t be happier about our return to PlayStation. We’ve been working really hard to craft a special Obduction experience for both PS4 and PSVR, and we’re so excited to get Obduction to our PlayStation fans."

You can check out the game's atmospheric launch trailer below. The video shows off many of the game's nice looking environments that players will have the opportunity to explore. Obduction is currently available on PC and Mac with Oculus Rift support (HTC Vive support is coming soon), and PS4 with PlayStation VR support.
