Naughty Dog Releases New Podcast, “Of Dogs and Development”

on May 14, 2012 9:13 PM

The developers behind Uncharted released a podcast on Youtube where they discuss their development process, the fans’ reactions and how that was taken into account to improve gameplay and community interaction. In their first episode, they focus on the topic of Penny Arcade Expo. They provide opinions on the change of venue, the community, and the feedback they received during their panel.

The video totals to just shy of a half hour, but the content is thought-provoking, coming from a game development and community management perspective. Naughty Dog has made a name for itself in many ways, but one of the most notable of ways is in how they heavily involve their fans; taking suggestions into mind and improving upon Uncharted‘s gameplay with said suggestions. It’s really interesting to see their reasoning and how it leads to the improvement of the medium.
