NBA 2K16 launched on September 29, with pre-orders arriving to people four days early, so it’s practically been a week since it’s release.

2K Sports announced they have hit 4 Million sales in one week, setting “an unprecedented franchise record.” Senior Vice President of basketball operations at 2K Jason Argent, expressed the effort the team puts into each title to provide the best on and off court NBA experience.

“Each year we set out to deliver not only the best on-court basketball video game, but a full off-court entertainment experience that transcends basketball. NBA 2K fans around the world are buying this title faster and in greater numbers than ever before.”

Greg Thomas, President of Visual Concepts, thanked the development team once again for their efforts.

“Our goal was simple, make NBA 2K16 the most playable, authentic basketball experience ever. The development team demonstrated tremendous dedication to recreating every nuance of the sport both on and off-court, which has been the driving force behind our early success.”

Looks like NBA 2K16 is going to break some franchise records on the long run.

My main and favorite thing to do in my life is play video games on my PS4 and admire the work that has been done in each game whether it's an AAA or an indie. Games are games no matter how many people develop it, it's the passion and hard work behind it. I am a crazy fan of Game of Thrones and love to read National Geographic magazines.
