It seems these days MMO games are all the rage. If you can believe it, Need for Speed World is aiming to bring the MMO experience to the racing genre starting this July 27th, 2010 on PC. Of course, you don’t have to wait that long if you don’t want to. Pre-ordering the “Starter Pack” for this title for £14.99 (or the american equivalent) will not only get you in-game currency and early access to Need for Speed World but will also enable you full access up to level 50, a bundled assortment of power-ups including Nitrous and Traffic Magnet in addition to the other purchasable power-ups, double XP periods, and rental cars starting at “just a few cents” each.
Check out the 150 mile open world terrain of Need for Speed World which should bring the police chases and vehicle tweaking, street-style the NFS series is known for to a whole new level. The game will be available to download free at world.needforspeed.com and in the free edition of the title player will be able to access every race and chase but only level up to level 10 before requiring in-game SpeedBoost credits to continue on. If paying to play is not your thing, you may want to sit this one out. However, fans of the new hybrid price models MMO games have been experimenting with and people who may not have a machine capable of playing other NFS games definitely should check this out and have a great time racing online while meeting friends.
