It was tonight, at the annual Tokyo Game Show PlayStation press conference where Sony Interactive Entertainment revealed that everyone's favorite mobile cat adoption and collection game Neko Atsume will be making the leap to PlayStation VR under the title Neko Atsume VR.

In case you didn't know, Neko Atsume was the smartphone hit that was released by developer Hit-Point back in 2014 and encouraged its players to create the perfect little playground for more than 70 feline friends, all of varying personality and rarity. Of course, once you got a proper kitty clan, it was important to furnish it with everything that might make your residents happy or with things that might attract even more to your home.

Since the game launched, it has grown to become highly popular, encouraging its players to regularly check-in on their cats to ensure the area remains fully-stocked with food. Gamers' level of obsession with Neko Atsume seems to have even warranted a spin-off film to release in Japan.

The announcement of Neko Atsume VR of the game was made by PlayStation Japan President Atsushi Morita. Unfortunately, we didn't learn much more about the upcoming PlayStation VR title except that it would be releasing sometime in 2018. Until then, we will just have to manage by continuing to care for the cats that we already have...
