Why, you ask? Because it is strangely named “Lilly,” and the first thing I think of when I think of that word is a purdy flower. Yes, yes, I know it isn’t spelled exactly correct, but hey, it is what it is. What exactly is involved in this battle system, you ask? This “Lilly” battle system involves eight characters participating in battle. We have a front row of fighters, who take the main actions in a battle scenario. The back row contains the other four party members, which act as support. I’m going to assume here that, depending on how you combine your party members together, different abilities can be used during battle – both from an offensive aspect, and from the back row for support.
It’s kinda cool that they’re adding something to spice up the battle system because, let’s face it – as much as I really wanted to like the battle system in Hyperdimension Neptunia, it was pretty boring. Tossing in another layer can only help things along. Let’s just hope that along with this new battle mechanic we get speedier battle pacing, as well, because I would rather not fall asleep at the controller.
