Today, Nintendo announced that the New 3DS XL “Pikachu Yellow Edition," which launched in Japan last year, is coming to North America on February 24th, priced at $199.99 USD.

Beyond the design, which features a drawing Pikachu on it, the model doesn't come with any extra perks or novelties, nor does it come with any bundled games. But hey, it's cute.

In other recent and related news, Nintendo reiterated that the final quarter for the year of 2016 was its most successful three-month period in 3DS history, at least in regards to game sales. The push was largely thanks to the release of  Pokemon Sun and Moon, which have sold a combined 4.5 million plus copies in the United States alone. It's been a good few months for the 3DS that's for sure. And with Mario Sports Superstars and Tank Troopers coming west soon, now might be as a good of a time ever to pick up the piece of hardware. That is, if Nintendo doesn't plan to kill it off with the Switch.
