After the mixed reactions and moderate sales of the Ouya, the Android-based console originally funded by Kickstarter and released this past June, controversy has arisen over a recently-uploaded online ad for the console that doesn't do many favors to the audience it is trying to draw in.

Originally uploaded to the "Ouyas" YouTube channel (the official account for Ouya), an animated 30-second ad appeared on the channel showing a rather disheveled caricature of a gamer (in his underwear next to an empty pizza box...of course) lamenting over buying a new video game for $60 and realizing the waste of money it was, only to then vomit profusely and bash himself in the head with...well, just take a look for yourself.

Since the ad was uploaded, the commercial drew rather quick criticism and derision (especially via Twitter) for its over-the-top nature and for lashing out against competitors (as the video ends with a brief tag of "Stop Wasting Cash on Crappy Games"). Ouya later sent a statement to Kotaku to clarify that the ad was "not an official ad," despite appearing on their official YouTube channel. Ouya clarified:

"We are experimenting with animated content and posted this video briefly to get feedback from our community. Stay tuned for our official video!"

The original video was since made private, but an uploaded copy is available courtesy of WarioSixFour below:
