EA will probably be single handedly responsible for the death of the used games business. Its consistent rewards for purchasing new copies of their games have pulled the punches of even the most dedicated cheapskates. Their latest ploy will be the highly anticipated Dragon Age 2.
Producer Mark Darrah told Joystiq:
“We haven’t announced what’s in it, but it’ll definitely be something kind of in that Cerberus vein where there will be additional content. What we’re doing with the DLC in Dragon Age 2 is making it larger; so it’ll be bigger teams, more unique environments, more unique creatures — so that it gets the attention it deserves to get.”
When you combine this with the fact that pre-ordering the game will net you a free upgrade, there is practically no reason you should buy this game used. Dragon Age 2 will be released for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 in March of next year.
