on August 1, 2015 2:12 AM

During a livestream from the Dead or Alive Festival, Producer Yosuke Hayashi confirmed that a new Dead or Alive Xtreme game is in development.

Hayashi-san mentioned that a sequel of the games featuring Dead or Alive heroines during a vacation at a tropical island has been a prominent request from the fans. Until now he used to behave like he was ignoring those requests, but while he isn’t able to provide more details, today he wanted to announce that the game is actually in development.

Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyballand Dead or Alive Xtreme 2 were released respectivectively in 2003 and 2006, but after that the Dead or Alive spin-off series has been left in the freezer for several years.

A while ago, Hayashi-san himself mentioned in an interview that there were many among his staff that wanted to create a new Dead or Alive Xtreme title for the current generation using the studio’s bouncy Soft Engine. Apparently those wishes have been granted.

Update: Team Ninja posted on its Facebook page confirming the development of the game, but they mentioned that it’ll only be released in Japan and ┬áin the Asian market. Something tells me a lot of people are going to be quite unhappy. It’s time to get your voices heard.
