New Details Revealed for the First Dark Souls II PS3 Beta

A handful of new details about the forthcoming beta for From Software’s anticipated action RPG Dark Souls II have been shared via the game’s official Facebook page.

The beta test will be conducted in both North and South America. Strangely, no registration will be required, but “select players” will receive download codes for the beta via PSN. The first round of testing will commence on October 12th and access into the beta will be distributed on a first-come first-served basis. The first round of testing will only accommodate 5000 players, but the second round of testing – which will commence two weeks later on October 26th – will seat more players.

More information on the PSN messages will be shared at a later date. I’m not really sure what to make of the “select players” bit, but apparently the beta will be invitation only. For now let’s cross our fingers and hope we get an invite.
