During a stage event at the JAEPO trade show at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba, near Tokyo, Square Enix just announced a brand new Dissidia: Final Fantasy game. This time around it’s an arcade title.

Here is what was shared during the event:

  • Final Fantasy XIV Character Y’shtola will be included and playable.
  • A full reveal is expected in a press conference on April 10th.
  • The battle system has been completely redesigned from the ground up.
  • 3 versus 3 players battles are supported.

Apparently, the new Dissidia is the game that Square Enix has been teasing in its “unknown” website we spotted a few days ago.

Now the actual official site has been opened, even if it’s pretty empty for the moment. That said, the first trailer and the key art have been published, and you can enjoy them below. It’ll be quite interesting to see if Dissidia: Final Fantasy will ever come to consoles, as many arcade fighting games end up doing, eventually.
