New God of War in Development Confirmed by Cory Barlog at PlayStation Experience (UPDATED)

on December 6, 2014 5:44 PM

During the God of War Retrospective panel at PlayStation Experience Game Director Cory Barlog confirmed that he’s working on a new God of War game.

The word was given by Twitter user Charles Weichselbaum who is currently sitting at the panel.

Update: Sony Santa Monica confirmed the news officially via Twitter.

Update 2: Interestingly, the tweet fully confirming the news was deleted. Luckily, we saved a screenshot. The original tweet was here. The second screenshot shows Sony Santa Monica responding with a further confirmation to Weichselbaum’s original tweet. That one has been deleted as well.

We don’t know why Sony Santa Monica decided to delete the tweet after the confirmation was already out in the wild. Possibly, the announcement wasn’t yet ready for prime time.

While Sony did not showcase the new God of War game during the PlayStation Experience keynote, at the very least now we know that it exists.

It’s much better than nothing, isn’t it?
