Kadokawa Games has dropped a ton of new screenshots and information on Killer Is Dead, which is the newest title from the minds of Suda (known as Suda51) and Yasuda. Killer Is Dead will be hitting Japan on August 1st for the PS3 and Xbox 360.

First, we now know that when the main character Mondo Zappa executes a perfect combo, he has access to a special move called "Final Judgment," which gives Zappa four different ways to inflict a killing blow upon dying enemies: assassination, slaughter, punishment and execution. By collecting a certain amount of four special items attributed to a specific killing blow, you can increase the damage output of that move.

Also, there is information on a new section of the game called "Tiger Vanished into the Darkness" in which Zappa must execute a yakuza boss named Hamadayama, whose Tiger tattoo has come to life and is rampaging in Kyoto. It also introduces two new enemy types, Samurai (who boosts a strong attack and even stronger guard) and Ninja=Spike (which has excellent speed and dodging capabilities).

The more I see of Killer Is Dead, the more excited I am for its eventual release in North America. The gameplay, visuals and plot are really shaping up to be something special.
