New Just Cause 2 Screens and Video

I remember the first Just Cause being an over the top, unrealistic, fun, John McClane invincible kind of game, but it just fell a little short on the design side. If Eidos can retool shortcomings of the first one, the trailer, screenshots and premise for Just Cause 2 all point to one heck of an upcoming sequel.

Just Cause 2 is an open-world combat game and you star as Rico Rodriguez, who is tracking down his former boss and mentor Tom Sheldon. You will have a unique multi-grappling hook (Bionic Commando much?) which will help you fight through the bad guys by pulling them through the air, hijacking vehicles, jumping out of vehicles, climbing buildings, and tethering pretty much everything you wish. Your multi-grappling hook will become your best friend throughout the game. The game will be open-ended so players can complete the game with freedom to explore possibilities. Now the game’s release is still in TBA status, but expect the game not to be out until 2010.
