New Legend of Heroes Game for Yet Unknown Platforms Outed by Famitsu

As every Wednesday, the first copies of Weekly Famitsu are already in the hands of  quite a few Japanese gamers, and this time the magazine had a surprise in store.

Nihon Falcom is developing a new game of the Legend of Heroes JRPG series, titled “Eyuu Densetsu Akatsuki no Kiseki” (which translates to The Legend of Heroes: Miracle of Dawn). The title is labeled as an “online project” and will be released in 2015 to celebrate the saga’s 10th anniversary.

The genre will be “Story RPG,” but the release date is actually marked as “beginning of service,” which again seems to indicate a MMORPG-like experience.

The platforms are explicitly indicated as “to be determined.”

In the past Falcom’s President Toshihiro Kondo expressed his will to develop a PS4 game, but for the moment we have no idea of this will be the one. It’s definitely a possibility considering the PS4’s push for MMORPGs and similar online experiences, but we’ll have to wait for further information before we can be sure.

He is also one of the few surviving fans of the flight simulator genre on Earth.
