The Legend of Zelda:Tri-Force Heroes is a first for the franchise. Zelda branched out into uncharted territories with Hyrule Warriors last year and is continuing the spinoff trend with this new multiplayer-focused exploration game for the 3DS. Tri-Force Heroes is presented in the same top-down style as A Link Between Worlds and allows up to 3 players to team up locally or online and explore dungeons.

Players will need to work together to solve puzzles, defeat bosses and collect special outfits. There is a massive focus on fashion in the world of Hytopia, and Link can get pretty extreme with the clothes he wears. There is also a solo mode available for players who prefer to go it alone, where phantom Links known as ‘doppels’ can be used to solve the three-person puzzles.

A new trailer from Nintendo of Europe shows off the game in action:

The Legend of Zelda: Tri-Force Heroes lands exclusively on the 3DS on October 23, 2015.
