Splatoon is one of the Wii U's biggest titles, and was given a big chunk of time during today's Nintendo Direct. Two new maps were unveiled, Museum D'Alfonsino and Mahi-Mahi resort. These unique stages feature rotating platforms and moving turf.

An update is due today at 5 p.m. PST that adds Museum D'Alfonsino as well as over 40 new pieces of gear. Mahi-Mahi resort hits tomorrow, November 13 at 6 p.m. PST.

In addition, a worldwide Nintendo Treehouse Splatoon Tournament was announced that will feature members of the Nintendo Treehouse staff.

Free content updates for Splatoon are planned to continue until at least January 2016.
