There aren't many doubts on the fact that CryEngine 3 is one of the best engines out there to render beautiful natural environments, and the new screenshots of Monster Hunter Online coming from Tencent are a further demonstration of that.

The screenies depict one of the areas of the game, named Hermit Forest, that will come with gigantic trees, its own camp and even a swamp where players will be able to fish. Of course there will also be plenty monsters to hunt, but this is a Monster Hunter game after all.

Now all we need is a western release date. Since Cytrek fumbled the announcement a couple weeks ago, things have been dreadfully silent on that front.
