Sony’s current handheld, the PlayStation Vita, is shedding some weight this spring. The new, slimmer (and sexier?) model will be released on May 6. It will also be available as a bundle with Borderlands 2 which will be released as a standalone game a week later (May 13).
From the PlayStation Blog:
The Borderlands 2 Limited Edition PlayStation Vita Bundle features the new slimmer, lighter PS Vita Wi-Fi model. The new model features 1GB of internal memory built into the system, a new high-definition liquid crystal display, increased battery life, and an enhanced design that makes the system even more comfortable to hold. The bundle will include the new PS Vita system in black, Borderlands 2, and an 8GB PS Vita memory card — all for $199.99.
The team behind this port of Borderlands 2 has worked hard to replicate everything that made that title so special to its fanbase. If you’ve already played the game and sunk hundreds of hours into it then you don’t need to worry about starting over as you can transfer your saves from your PlayStation 3 to your Vita.
The bundle also comes with these add-on packs:
- Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate’s Booty
- Mr. Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage
- Psycho and Mechromancer Character Classes
- Ultimate Vault Hunter’s Upgrade Pack
- Collector’s Edition pack
This whole package is really impressive if you ask me. I already have a PSV and don’t much care for first person shooting games but even I’m slightly tempted to buy it.
