As one of the marquee titles for Microsoft this holiday season, those looking to jump into the action of Gears of War 4 this October will also be treated to a bonus by pre-ordering the game now with a complete collection of the entire series for free.

Following a previous announcement by The Coalition's Rod Fergusson a few weeks ago, Microsoft has revealed more specific information on a new pre-order bonus for Gears of War 4, which will offer free copies of the Gears of War series through backwards compatibility - similar to the offer that Microsoft had in place with Gears of War: Ultimate Edition last year.

The new promo will offer players with free copies of the original Gears of War trilogy (and its prequel, Gears of War: Judgment), which will be available for players that pre-order either the physical or digital editions of the game. Fine print for the deal explains that 32GB of hard drive space will be needed to download all four titles to an Xbox One console.

The offer will be in place from now through December 31st, 2016 - physical copies of the game will include download codes for each of the games in the box, while players that purchased digital copies will receive the codes through their messages in Xbox Live (to be sent in waves).

Gears of War 4 will release for Xbox One and PC on October 11th, 2016.
