New Screens and Theme Song for The 3rd Birthday

Yesterday, Square-Enix’s upcoming action shooter The 3rd Birthday received an announcement of a theme song on its official blog. The theme song will be titled “Eyes on Me” (yes, I know, I get the connection, but this is a completely different song). The theme song has been written and will be performed by the J-Pop act Superfly, and “Eyes on Me” will be a fairly standard love ballad. As if we didn’t see enough of those in JRPGs, right?

In addition to that, Square-Enix passed on some new screens of the game today. Some of these are similar to ones we’ve seen before, but they focus on the variety of outfits that the game’s heroine, Aya Brea, will have at her disposal within the game. Notice, one of them looks a whole lot like Lightning, from Final Fantasy XIII. That’s because it’s supposed to! Let’s cross our fingers for the Final Fantasy VIII references to continue and give Aya an outfit like Rinoa had in that game…that would be awesome. Hit the break to check out the screens.
